THE Pinel & Pinel Coated canvas
While the early materials used in PINEL et PINEL collections consisted of exotic skins like crocodile and ostrich, the Maison introduced its coated canvas in 2014, crafted by Fred Pinel. Over time, this canvas design evolved, leading to its current iteration in 2016.
With a deep appreciation for the esoteric realm, the creator infused the canvas with a powerful numerological symbolism. The primary pattern draws direct inspiration from the number 8. This numeral, representing infinity (∞), is also synonymous with perfection and good fortune. Remarkably, the Pinel et Pinel canvas motif can be read both horizontally and vertically, adding an extra layer of significance.
Derived from this figure, Fred Pinel stylized it to infuse his canvas with both the essential touch of modernity and a subtle play of vibrant associations. Initially available in 6 colors and later expanded to 8 (Azur, Perfect Black, Sexy Black, Mocaccino, Emeraude, Indigo, Poppy, and Grenadine), the PINEL et PINEL coated canvas welcomed a ninth shade, Lemon, in 2023. Manufactured by one of Europe's finest textile producers, the PINEL et PINEL coated canvas embodies durability, waterproofness, and impeccable shape retention. Woven from high-quality cotton and polyester threads, the canvas undergoes meticulous preparation before being printed in the signature colors of PINEL et PINEL. It is then coated with multiple layers of polyurethane, ensuring its impermeability and resistance to wear and tear.
Calf leather
All our trunks, cases, and select bags are available in calf leather. This material is highly appreciated for its suppleness, fine grain, and durability.
We meticulously select high-quality hides that undergo traditional vegetable tanning. In addition to the luxury leather's durability and strength, it is dyed in a range of rich and deep colors, enhanced by a subtle luster.
For all special orders of calf leather trunks and cases, we offer a choice of 60 exquisite shades.
Taurillon leather
Taurillon (Bull calf) leather is a type of luxurious leather crafted from carefully selected hides of young bulls.
Due to the sturdier nature of young bull hides, this leather is able of withstanding daily strains, scratches, and tears, making it an ideal choice for items that require exceptional durability, such as travel bags, business bags, or backpacks.
While slightly less smooth than young calf leather, bull calf leather retains a beautiful suppleness and exudes an elegant and refined appearance. It showcases a fine grain and a pleasant texture, offering a luxurious aesthetic.
We offer it in 20 different colors, providing a range of options to suit various tastes and preferences.
Lamb leather
Lamb leather is renowned for its soft and supple texture. It is lighter and more flexible than other types of leather, yet it remains durable and resilient.
Lamb leather exhibits a smooth and luxurious appearance, highly coveted in fashion articles. Its incredibly pleasant and sensual touch adds a gentle and ideal sophistication to women's handbags.

Goat leather
Goat leather is renowned for its durability. It is sturdy and resilient, offering a certain resistance to weather conditions and excellent breathability. These qualities make it a suitable material for everyday use, particularly for small leather goods.
Goat leather is relatively soft and flexible. It possesses an attractive appearance with a natural texture that lends it an elegant and distinctive look.
Crocodile leather
Since its inception, PINEL et PINEL has specialized in crafting luxury leather goods using exotic leathers, including crocodile.
Crocodile leather is renowned for its durability and strength. It is naturally robust and can withstand daily wear and tear.
Porosus crocodile leather is considered one of the most prestigious varieties of crocodile leather. It is obtained from the skin of the saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus). Porosus crocodile leather is carefully selected and crafted from the most precious part of the crocodile's skin, typically found on the belly, featuring finer and more regular scales. It stands out with its granular texture and well-defined scales. The scales are generally smaller and more uniform compared to other varieties of crocodile leather, giving the material an elegant and unique appearance.
The Diamond Crocodile is the name given by PINEL et PINEL to an original use of crocodile skin presented on its reverse side. This finish provides a soft and velvety feel to the crocodile skin without scales. PINEL et PINEL products are often offered in a combination of crocodile and diamond crocodile. This combination offers an original interplay of materials.
Shagreen leather
Shagreen is a rare and precious exotic leather derived from the skin of rays. It is the most resilient leather and also the most challenging to work with.
In 18th-century, Jean-Claude Galluchat, a parisian master craftsman, known as the "Maître Gainier" of French King Louis XV, popularized its use among the aristocracy in his creations.
Shagreen leather is naturally resistant to water and scratches. It stands out with its easily identifiable and visually appealing texture, characterized by small grains.
Shagreen can be dyed in a wide range of colors. It can also undergo various finishes, such as polishing or lacquering, to enhance its natural luster.
Python skin
Python skin is an exotic leather highly valued for the production of luxury leather goods. The pattern of python scales is often considered one of the most attractive and distinctive among snake skins. Python scale patterns are often wider and more irregular. The relatively large size of the skins also facilitates the cutting and manufacturing process for creating handbags.
Python skin is appreciated for its sophisticated aesthetic appeal, as well as its lightweight and supple nature. Additionally, it naturally exhibits resistance to daily wear, tears, and scratches.
